Roof Design Types

Gable Roof – 2 roof surfaces sloping in opposite directions
Hip Roof – All sides slope downwards to the walls
Intersecting Roof – 2 roofing areas adjoined by valleys
Gambrel Roof – or “barn style,” is 4 slopes where the upper 2 are less steep than the lower 2
Mansard Roof – Upper area of roof is lower sloped, or flat, and sides of roof are much steeper
Butterfly Roof – 2 roof surfaces sloped towards one another creating a valley in the center Shed Roof – 1 roof surface sloped in 1 direction
